Sonic movie will be skewed towards older audiences, have edgy feel
Oh dear.
A Sonic the Hedgehog film has been confirmed to be in the works by Columbia Pictures. Do we like the fact that Sonic is going to be “edgy”? Remember last time the Sonic series got “dark and edgy?"
But, there’s hope. Here’s a shortlist of the writer’s producers are eyeing for the film:
- Brad Bird (“Incredibles, “”Wall-E,” “Brave,” “Toy Story 2,” “Up”)
- Wernick & Reese (“Deadpool,” “Monsters Inc,” “Zombieland,” “GI Joe Retaliation”)
- David Berenbaum (“The Spiderwick Chronicles,” “Elf”)
- Phil Johnston (“Wreck it Ralph” and “Nebraska”)
If Brad Bird gets the job, I know it will be perfect. Bird hasn’t let us down yet. We should all be pretty wary of this movie though. “Wreck-It-Ralph” proved that a good video game movie can be done, but it has to have competent people at the helm who actually care about the intellectual property.
