Hey guys, there was a Mario Kart 8 Direct this morning
And here’s some of the big info.
- Wii U allowed more polygons which allowed courses where drivers could drive on all sorts of surfaces
- When in anti-gravity, you can race on any surface after running after special blue pads.
- Spin Boosting: bumping into other cars will cause you to spin, and will give you a speed boost.
- New Characters: Baby Rosalina. Pink Gold Peach. 30 Characters in all.
- New Items: Boomerang Flower acts like a boomerang, hitting enemies in the throw or rebound. Use 3 times. Phirana Plants will plant in front of your car and eat everything, including items. Crazy 8 gives you 8 items at once. Super Horn blows away everyone around you with a shockwave. Can be used to defend against items even Blue Shells.
- Easier than ever online modes with 4 different racing modes. Text and voice chat will also be available. Players can hold their own tourneys.
- If you can race faster than developer ghost data, you’ll receive a special MiiVerse stamp.
- MKTV: Will allow you to view your racing highlight reels. Upload best ones to MKTV for other people to watch. You can then post to Youtube.
- Mario Kart Wii U Bundle includes a Black Deluxe Wii U system, Mario Kart 8, a Mario Wii Wheel, and a Mario Wii Remote Plus controller for 329.99 will launch with the game on May 30.
Also, not to bury the lead, but if you buy Mario Kart 8, you will receive a download code for one of four Nintendo first party titles if you register your product with Club Nintendo before July 21. Sweet deal.
